Training Camp Begins

Thursday, June 1 the USA team players reported to the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO for the training camp to work for a spot on the U16 USA team to compete in Formosa, Argentina.

USA U16 National Team head coach Don Showalter, who has coached USA U16/U17 national teams to eight-straight gold medals since 2009, returns to the sideline as the 2017 USA U16 head coach.

Showalter will be assisted on the sideline by Scott Fitch (Fairport H.S., N.Y.) and Stan Waterman (Sanford School, Del.), both of whom tackle their first USA Basketball coaching assignments this summer. Court coaches for the first three days of training camp include Sam Brand (Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, Md.) and Harvey Kitani (Rollings Hills Preparatory School, Calif.).
